Thailand is a large country and easy enough to travel around, whether you visit the cities and sights by bus, train, plane or domestic flights will depend on your idea of comfort and your budget.

The cheapest option is by coach and there is a network criss-crossing the whole country. Plenty of time will be needed if you choose this method as it can take 12 hours to cover Phuket to Bangkok alone, so if you are planning to travel from the southern islands to the northern regions sufficient time and stamina will be necessary.

The train network isn’t as extensive as the road, but definitely a cheap and comfortable, if very slow, option. Sleeper carriages can be booked for long overnight routes so you can actually get some rest, see the scenery and be comfy, a train journey presents the opportunity to walk around and meet fellow travellers which can be fun.

The qualities of the roads are pretty good so hiring a car is always a possibility and the majority of signposts are written in English as well as Thai. Be warned though, that you will still have the long distances to cover and gas prices are on the increase so it could be an expensive option.

As we get older we get used to our comforts and luxuries, generally with a little more money available we have the choice of travelling by any mode of travel we want. But, let’s face it, who wants to be on a bus for 12 hours crammed in with numerous others? Internal flights in Thailand can get you to any part of the country usually within an hour, with a comfortable seat and smiling beautiful hostesses. I put my hands up for a bit of that please!

http://www.domesticflightsthailand.com>Domestic flights in Thailand are competitive in comparison to other forms of transportation and, along with regular fares many of the airlines frequently have special promotions and offers. If you are a regular traveller or just here for a holiday it is worth checking them all out for any early booking fares or special discounts offered between certain destinations. You just never know what bargain you might find.

The main airports in Thailand are Bangkok, Chiang Mai in the north and Phuket in the south, but altogether there are 13 airports around the country so wherever you are planning to go there should be an airport not too far away.

The regular airlines in Thailand are Thai Air, the national carrier, and Bangkok Airways. Over the last few years the number of ‘no frills’ airlines within Thailand has also grown and you can find low fares with Air Asia, Nok Air and One-Two-Go. Air Asia is well known for having a free flights sale every now and again, but get there quick as they are sold out real quick as we all love something for free. There are always taxes and surcharges to pay however so the flight isn’t entirely free and these can add up. One-Two-Go’s fare structure is very simple with all domestic flights priced the same (not counting the special offers). Nok Air has flights to different provinces at competitive prices.

There are also a few small aircraft that operate less popular and more out of the way routes. PB Air runs routes in the north and north eastern regions and SGA Airlines has services to small towns mainly in the far north. Destination Air is a seaplane service based in Phuket, south of the country that flies to local islands and other nearby destinations.

If it is convenience, speed and value for money, taking an http://www.domesticflightsthailand.com”>internal flights has to beat every other mode of travel hands down. From Bangkok you can catch a flight to any of the airports in Thailand and, apart from Bangkok, airports are all fairly close to town centers. A one hour flight compared to a 10 hour journey overland will see you arriving fresh, alert and unstressed. Until you see the deep blue ocean, white sand beaches and tropical interiors from high above you haven’t seen the best of Thailand. Check out http://www.domesticflightsthailand.com>www.domesticflightsthailand.com for all internal flights in Thailand, detailing routes, airlines, schedules and fares available.

If you have heard that flight tickets get cheaper on last minute reservation,…..well most of the time it might be true as far as low seasons like February, March, October or May are concerned but in peak season even the Sale offers are no less than 600 bucks….in that case how can you still save some good deal on your flights to Thailand?

Make any flights – cheap flights to Thailand by following the simple rules:

If you always travel in national or school Holidays, try booking your cheap tickets to Thailand at the first possibility, the best time is at least 3 months earliest. Remember, the demand goes up as you move closer to the dates. The second most important thing is to find you a good travel agency. The point is some “good” agencies (it’s not necessary that famous agencies are good), have really cheap flights to offer as they buy these seats in bulk and get some discounts from the Airlines. In some cases, agencies even have permanent contracts that means you can bargain, ask for discounts or enjoy promotional fares too. So all you have to do is to find such an agency is to search…. Search and search…..OR I recommend visiting www.flightsfareast.co.uk Another way is to book “connecting” flights to Thailand. That can be really very cheap some times and it is not necessary that “indirect” or “connecting” flight means you will be required to wait for ages before boarding your next plane. For example, there are flights from far east, such as Qatar Airways that fly at very reasonable prices and also the connecting times are not too bad…So you can take advantage of them by booking a ticket from London to Thailand in a 5 star airline…even though the flight is indirect, the standard of service is Marvelous – after all it’s a five star ranked airline! The last way to get your cheap tickets (in case if you are going for Holidays) is to get a “Package Reservation” for your family. Package reservation means you will be buying accommodation plus flights under one roof. Thus the more you shop the more you get discounted. You can do the same by introducing your friends and getting discounts on referring people or simple by keeping one travel agency or company as it earns you more points each time you travel. So automatically you earn enough miles. Where special deals are concerned, even business and premium class reservation for some airlines can be bought at really cheap prices in comparison to direct selling points, if you are booking them with an agency! One bigger benefit of booking with an agency is that, you may get a chance to bargain your rates down with traveling agencies. It may also help you in comparing rates and getting what you are looking for by paying what you are dreaming off.

In end of year time, the best thing to do is to either make a package reservation, buy yourself a Sale offer (as going on with British Airways sale offer ) or get the closest possible date to Christmas and return on January 1st …otherwise you will only find good fares after the end of peak season that is January 15 or 17 in some cases. So best of luck for your next cheap flights to Far East…!

Sukhothai was the first capital city of Thailand. Its name means “Dawn of Happiness”. It is located about 450 kgs. north of Bangkok. (take about 6 – 7 hours by bus or you can fly by daily flights to Sukhothai) There are a lot of interesting places in this ancient city esp. Sukhothai Historical Park which is the most amazing one. UNESCO declared the Sukhothai Historical Park a World Heritage Site in 1991. Sukhothai, therefore, is one of Thailand’s most visited ancient sites and Thailand travel destination.

The Sukhothai Historical Park is very large area and comprises the elegant ruins of Royal palaces, Buddhist temples, 4 city gates, walls moats, dams, water control system and much more. The ruins are very awesome and the grounds are magnificent. You can feel great Thai cultural and artistic significance. Sukhothai was known as a Kingdom of Happiness. So, images of Buddha sculptured during the Sukhothai era are cultural treasures which impart a feeling of peace and serenity. The large Buddhas there are the most beautiful Buddhas that you had ever seen. Take as many photos as you can.

Besides, if you plan your trip to Thailand in beginning of November, you may join the great Thai tradition, Sukhothai Loi Krathong and Candle Festival” which is celebrated at the Sukhothai Historical Park annually on the full moon night of the 12th lunar month (November) (when the tide is high and the air is cool) In the old days, we had to worship to gods of the rivers and to avoid bad luck. To celebrate the festival, we make the Krathongs or floats in the form of lotus, have candle lighting and play with fireworks. There are also Nang Nopphamat (as beauty contest), exhibition at the historical site.

If you are interested in Thai history, this is a must place to visit. It is indeed one of Thailand Travel Destination.

Thailand, or the “Land of Smiles”, as it is also called, is one of the most popular tourist destinations. When you ask someone what are his top travel destinations, Thailand will often be the answer. What makes Thailand such a popular tourist destination? We will see that there are quite a few contributing factors that make Thailand such a popular country.

First of all, Thailand isn’t called the “Land of Smiles” for nothing; there is a good reason why it has that name. Thailand has the reputation of being a country that is extremely hospitable for tourists. Thais are such nice people, always smiling and trying to help whenever they can. They are genuinely interested and have at heart that everyone who visit’s Thailand enjoys their stay. Even though this is a very good reason to visit Thailand, there are a few more that make’s it a must for any tourist.

Another reason would be the rich culture and history of the country. When you visit Thailand, you will be amazed at the number of great temples that you can find a bit everywhere. While in Bangkok, everyone should stop by the Grand palace and the temple of the Emerald Buddha. After that, whether you go up North towards Chiang Mai or down south towards Phuket, you will find many temples and a rich culture that is truly unique. Ayutthaya is such a grand sight to behold and is an UNESCO world heritage site. But there are not only nice temples and ruins to visit in Thailand, the natural beauty of the country is one of its greatest assets.

Beautiful beaches in the South, mountains and rainforest to the North, there is really something for everyone in Thailand. Phuket is one of the top destinations in South East Asia and for good reasons. The beaches are superb, the weather is great, what can you ask more? In Thailand there are more beautiful beaches than you can possibly hope to visit during your trip, so you should choose carefully. Koh Phi Phi is one of the most popular and became famous after the movie The Beach. There are hundred of tourists that visit Koh Phi Phi every day. But the North also has its charm, although a different kind of charm. If you want to do some jungle trek, you will be very happy by going around Chiang Mai. It is a very fulfilling experience to do a jungle trek in the mountains around Chiang Mai and to visit some small villages.

Shopping is another reason why so many people go to Thailand. Bangkok is quickly becoming a shopper’s paradise. There are huge shopping malls being built around the city and the prices are very good. You can find many bargains if you look around and can also find the top brands in the bigger shopping malls such as Siam Paragon and Central World. If you stop by Bangkok, you should definitely go to the Chatuchak weekend market, the biggest open market in the world. There are over 15,000 stalls and each day hundred of thousands of people go to the market.

Thai food is another reason why people want to go to Thailand. Everyone knows about Thai food, it is very popular and gaining in popularity in Europe and North America. In Thailand, Thai food is much better than what you will find anywhere else and there are restaurants everywhere. There is so much choice of food that when arriving in Thailand you won’t know where to eat. Thai cuisine is very diverse, as there are specialties form the North of Thailand and also form the South. You should definitely try a Pad Thai when you arrive in Thailand, you will fall in love with that meal.

Finally, the last reason is the price. Aside from the air ticket, staying in Thailand is very cheap. You can find nice hotels for about 30$ US and if you eat in smaller restaurants it will cost you around 2$. Activities are also very cheap, as is travel. Staying in Thailand won’t cost you as much as the air ticket if you want to stay on a budget. You could easily spend a lot of money if you stay in the top hotels, as there are prices for everyone, but you can also easily spend very little each day.

So with all these nice factors that make Thailand truly unique, it is no wonder that it is such a popular destination. Everyone should visit Thailand at least once in their life. All of these factors individually could be enough to visit this wonderful country, but when you add them all together, you get a destination that you won’t want to leave.
