An extended vacation with plans to visit several countries sounds very exotic and exciting. However, the total cost of your airfare can be prohibitive. For travel plans that include several stopovers in different countries what you need to look for are cheap international flights.

Here are a few suggestions that will help you travel the world without having to break the bank.

Get a Head Start by Planning Ahead

The key to finding the best deals on cheap international flights is to plan your getaway as far in advance as you can. Discounts can be sizeable if you can select your flight with at least a 21-day advance purchase. Many of the cheap international flights are available directly from the airlines, who offer non published fares not often found for domestic travel. As an added bonus, you may find your other needs, such as lodging and attraction tickets may be cheaper as well with enough notice.

Smaller Airlines- Your Gateway to Cheap International Flights

Smaller airlines have less of an overhead and therefore are able to pass their savings on to you. EasyJet offers some of best deals on cheap international flights. This company does not even pay a commission to travel agents so they are able to reduce the public fares. Many times you will not have a meal or a movie, but this may pale in comparison to the savings you can pocket.

Package Deals helps save your Travel Dollars

Package deals for international flights are one of the best ways to get a great deal on your vacation. These packages include airfare and accommodations, and sometime attraction tickets. Many of these packages can be all-inclusive, meaning your food and some activities are covered as well. Destination specialists such as Airfare Planet, Qantas Vacations, and 1800 Fly Europe, will be able to save you a lot of your hard earned money with these vacation package deals.

Consider Multiple Stop-Overs

Many times, cheap international flights can be found if you take a flight requiring a layover or multiple stops. These flights are not as convenient sometimes as a direct flight, but you may get to see a few more sites and save some money at the same time. Multiple stops are also a great way to experience more of the local flavors found near the airports.

Dump the Baggage

When you are flying internationally, many airlines are now charging for checked baggage. This can raise the price of your cheap international flights to something not so cheap! Pack only what you need and consider purchasing items when you arrive at your destination.

Do Your Research

Many cheap fares can be found online. Online travel sites and destination specialty companies now offer the opportunity to plan your entire vacation with just a few clicks of the mouse. Be sure you are ready to purchase your tickets, however, because airfare prices can change within a matter of hours. Take the time to try several sites and don’t be afraid to contact the companies directly. Many times a travel agency will match or beat someone else’s best deal, or even offer some bonuses, just to get your business.

Following these easy tips and advice should help you find several cheap flights to your chosen destinations.

Tips for Your Family Flight

Anyone facing air travel today already has to content with reduced numbers of flights, long waits at security checks, and often unexplained delays. For people flying solo the ordeal can be stressful enough, but for families traveling together air travel is even more challenging. Using these tips can smooth your flight preparations so that your flight itself can be an enjoyable part of your vacation instead of something you must simply tolerate until you reach your destination.

Because you’re flying as a family, it’s essential that you book your flight reservations well in advance of your departure date. Most flights fill up quickly, and you want the peace of mind which comes from knowing that your air travel arrangements have been finalized. Making your reservations early will also give you the best chance of finding a direct flight to your destination. This can be a real blessing if you’re traveling with very small children!

When you start packing for the flight, you should make sure each of your kids has a carry-on bag with some games or books to keep them all entertained while you’re aloft. Once the novelty of being thirty thousand feet above the Earth has worn off, they could easily become restless in their confined quarters so you need something fun for them to do.

For your smallest children you can pack books to read to them, along with one or tow of their favorite plush toys to help them feel secure. Your older kids can bring along their video games, DVD players, playing cards, or books.

No matter what you do don’t forget to pack snacks for your kids. Many airlines have given up their in-flight meals, and the ones which still serve them don’t always have food which appeals to kids. While you can arrive at the airport early enough to get snacks after you’ve cleared the security check lands, airport food is notoriously expensive Your best option is to make sure everyone leaves home on a full stomach, and that you’ve reserved one carry-on bag with a favorite snack for each child.

Remember that the airlines have now placed limits on the amount of bottled liquids you can carry through security. So bring along an empty container and fill it with water from an airport fountain before your board your flight, if you don’t want to spend the money on airport sodas. You don’t want your kids to become dehydrated during your flight.

You can carry a single bottle of formula if you’re flying with an infant. Be sure to pack some formula powder with your baby’s supplies to mix with some of that airport water if you need it. You can also brink small bottles of juice for your older kids, but check with the airline in advance to make sure they’re the right size.

It’s critical, when you get to the airport, that your entire family stays together. Make sure that you kids understand how important it is not to go wandering off, even though they might be excited at all the new sights and sounds. Let your older children share the responsibility of carrying their own carry-on bags, and helping the younger ones through the security checkpoints so they don’t lose things like coins or even their shoes! The secret to a smooth family flight begins with a family functioning smoothly on the ground!

Remember to book your flight at http://www.myroadtotravel.com

Everyone, at one point or the other, starts disliking flights, when we were kids it was so much fun, but now it looks like the worst few hours we can spend, and on long flights it is almost a catastrophic, spending hours in that very small space, and without much free movement or quality breathing air can make some people really edgy. There are a few things besides the lake of fresh air and space for your feet in most flights, and this is what makes most of us dislike flying long hours.

However there are a few things that you can do to try and combat these long hour flights, and the boredom that comes with them, as well as take care of yourself while flying, here are a few things we thought can help.

On flight

If you are scheduled to fly for 4 hours or more, you probably be thinking of the things to do to kill time while on flight. Remember the following…

Bring pocket books. This will keep you busy while flying and the best way to kill the time. An MP3 player and a portable game console are also good. These things are helpful in case you do not want to watch or could not see the movie shown on the screen.

Exercise. Sitting on the plane for several hours would prevent your blood to circulate properly. Walk for at least 5 minutes every 2 hours during the flight. Shake your legs, bend your knees, and move.

Target the seat at the aisles. This will prevent you from disturbing your neighbor sleeping if you want to get up and take a walk or go to the lavatory. An aisle seat would also give you more legroom to stretch. Try to avoid a window seat; you would only see clouds and skies for most of the time.

Seats at the exit doors are the most comfortable place to be if you want all the legroom. On most airlines, these seats are reserved for disabled persons and are not available on pre-booking but can be requested when checking-in.

Drink plenty of water. Long flights can dehydrate you. Flight attendants will normally offer you water or juice in between flight meals. Go easy with caffeine and alcohol.

When the plane is descending, blow your nose while pinching it closed with your thumb and index fingers to help remove the ear pressure. Yawning and swallowing could help too.

And finally, do not rush to the door once your plane has landed simply to get out first. Relax and do not join the rushing crowd. There is no reason for doing this since you have wait for your checked-in baggage outside.

There is nothing worse than discovering that the chap next to you on the beach got here for a fraction of the ticket price that you paid. Here are the 10 top ways to ensure you get the best airfare deal out there, without spending days haggling with travel agents:

1. Book Early.

It is a myth that the cheapest airfares are available to those who book last minute. Rather, the best deals are usually available about 6 months before departure, when the seats are first released for purchase, and these disappear as availability gets more scarce. So if you’re thinking of going away at Christmas – book your flights now! (NB hotel rooms are still most likely to have their best deals at the last minute).

2. Be Open-Minded about Airports.

Budget airlines often fly to a minor airport that is farther away from the city center than the main airport – this saves them airport fees, which they can pass on in price savings, and you get to see unusual and exotic regional airports!

3. Be Flexible with Dates.

Depending on the destination, it is often cheaper to travel on a Sunday or mid-week, or if you stay over the weekend. Checking prices for dates a few days before or after you originally wanted to fly can often have a big impact on fares. And if you really want to be away for Christmas or a particular bank holiday weekend, then extending your stay for a few days either before or after the popular dates can save you a lot of money.

4. Once you’ve been Flexible, be Consistent.

Low cost flights normally come with stringent Ts & Cs, which often include exorbitant cancellation or change fees. Changing your mind once you’ve booked can be very expensive!

5. Use a Flight Search Engine.

Flight search engines will save you lots of time and money by shopping around for you – you enter your flight details once, and they zip off and search dozens of online travel agents and airlines simultaneously to find you the best deal. Examples of Flight Search Engines include Kayak and SideStep in the US and Foundem in the UK. Sites such as Expedia and Travelocity, are often mistaken for flight search engines, but they are actually online travel agents.

Flight Search Engines make money from referral fees – this means that when you click through to buy your bargain flight, they get a small fee for having pointed you there. Because the budget airlines tend not to pay referral fees, most Flight Search Engines don’t include the Budget Airlines such as EasyJet, RyanAir and AerLingus in their search results. Foundem.com is the only Flight Search Engine to include all of these budget airlines and more.

6. Use Hubs

If you’re going somewhere a little bit obscure, it is often cheapest to use these tips to find a great deal to the nearest major hub city (such as London or Dallas) and then pick up a hop to your final destination from a low cost airline or commuter service. Make sure you leave plenty of time for the transfer, though, as the hop airline won’t be responsible if you miss your connection!

7. Avoid School Holidays

All travel gets more expensive during school holidays, including flights. If you don’t have children, this one’s a no-brainer. And if you do have children, have you considered leaving them behind?

8. Don’t Forget Package Holidays

While its almost always cheapest to de-couple flights and hotels for city breaks and long haul, if you’re looking for a week on a beach or on the piste, package holidays can still sometimes be the cheapest option. Package holidays become even more likely to be the best deal if you’ve ignored tip number 1 and are booking last minute.

9. Look on Wednesday and Saturday Mornings.

The cheapest flights tend to sell out within hours of being released. Airlines play with their fares at any time, but the biggest waves of fresh fare releases tend to be on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

10. Always check the Round Trip Price, even if you’re Flying One-Way

Bizarrely, one-way tickets often cost more than the return equivalent. So if you’re either flying one-way, or open-jaw (i.e. flying to one destination, then taking a train or camel and returning home from somewhere else), always check the round trip equivalents for these fares. Make sure that the flights you’re planning to use are always the outbound ones, though, because airlines often won’t let you board for the return leg of a round-trip if you haven’t actually flown the outbound leg.

Want to secure cheap plane flights? Whether you’re a travel enthusiast or a vacation fanatic on a budget, then this article could help you in finding cheap plane flights.

Even if you have never left your country before, you know that traveling comes at a high price. The expensive airfare tickets alone can sometimes be enough to put off your plans for another two years or so. However, if you know how to score cheap plane flights, you’ll be spending your days in and out of the airport in no time!

Getting very cheap airfare doesn’t take rocket science. And with the help of this article, you’re going to book yourself one and have a blast doing it!

Cheap Plane Flights Tip 1: ‘Tis the Season to be Jolly.

If you know how to get the cheapest airfare tickets, that is. One technique you have to master is learning how to recognize which flights are in season and which are not. For example, if it’s summer time, a lot of people are going to want to go to beachy areas like Miami or even go out of the country. Avoid these flights because the higher the demand, the more expensive the flight.

Cheap Plane Flights Tip 2: Subscribe to Travel Websites.

If you’re a travel aficionado, then you might already know of travel sites like Priceline.com, Bestfares.com, Travelocity.com, or some other popular travel websites. One good thing about these sites is that you’re privy to details many people aren’t – like inexpensive airfares. Plus, many of these websites also have special promos, discounts and even newsletters that can help you make travel decisions wisely.

Cheap Plane Flights Tip 3: Book Your Flight 2-3 Weeks Earlier.

Planning is everything. Not only does planning help you remember to bring that toothbrush or any of your other essentials, it also helps you score cheap plane flights. The earlier you book your flight, the cheaper your airfare usually turns out to be.

Cheap plane flights are not just a figment of your imagination. As long as you prepare yourself early enough, know how to read the seasons, and follow up on news and updates from travel websites, you’re all set to go!

Looking for a new vacation travel destination? Wondering which holiday spots don’t get the credit they deserve, and which ones receive too much? Here are some tips on a few of the most over- and underrated places.

Underrated:

South Dakota/Black Hills. Beautiful oasis of pine and mountains, and plenty to do with Mount Rushmore, Native American sights, Hiking, scenic drives, waterfalls, tons of wildlife to view, national parks, camping, fishing, and even wild horses and bison roaming free.

Idaho

Upstate New York

Tennessee

National parks in Southern Utah.

South Carolina

Gulf Coast of Florida

Washington DC. A wonderful city with lots of places to explore.

Northern Wisconsin

The city of Athens

Oslo, Norway

Louisville, Kentucky. Not just for horse racing, this city has lots of small-town charm, a diverse art scene, a theme park for coaster lovers, lots of great restaurants, and much more.

Portland, Oregon.

Overrated:

Miami/South Florida. Hot, humid, crowded. Good shopping though for sure. The beach is fun but there are much better beaches in Florida.

Los Angeles. Too crowded on the highways, terrible smog, obstructed views of the surrounding scenery, unimpressive downtown surrounded by graffiti-covered neighborhoods.

Costa Rica

Stonehenge

Disney World at Christmas. Way too crowded to be able to enjoy yourself.

Yosemite National Park. You need to hike to enjoy the beauty of this park. Otherwise you may be disappointed.

Isle of Capri

The Great Barrier Reef, Australia. Cloudy water, no fish, not much to see.

Bali. Open sewers run under the sidewalks.

Atlanta

Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. Visitors agree it is interesting but say it is not worth the time.

Sante Fe, New Mexico

Blarney Stone in Ireland.

Although these places have been called underrated or overrated by some, one can usually find things to like and appreciate no matter where you go. Use this list of travel destinations as a guide and be sure to thoroughly research your vacation plans so that you won’t ultimately be disappointed. What one traveler finds to dislike, others may find to be the best part of their trip.

Our recommended top ten tips to save money as a hotelier;

Consider buying a garbage disposal unit (also known as a waste disposal unit) for the sink to reduce purchasing bin bags from the council. Switch radiators off in the rooms where guests are not staying. Put a polite sign up asking guests to turn off electrical equipment including the main light when leaving the rooms. Install an integrated keycard system for the door locks and electrical equipment, automatically turning off all electrical equipment when the guest leaves the room. Ask guests to reuse towels as they would at home thus saving the environment. Put an online booking system on your website. Use a free service such as the Hotel Services System with no commissions or upfront costs. Cook breakfast to order, minimising food wastage. If running a small hotel, don’t do it all yourself. Employ staff so you have time to concentrate on advertising, and selling more rooms. Make sure the building has energy light bulbs, timers on hallway lights, loft & cavity insulation, double or triple glazing, energy efficient boiler and radiators. Shop around for your stock. The trade suppliers are not often the cheapest, and the chain supermarkets can be better for low volume alcohol especially when deals are on.
